Fever!

It's one of those awesome weekends where my body decides that I don't get to do any of those awesome things I planned to do.  Yaaaay!

This is possibly the most accurate autobiographical doodle I've ever done.  It's pretty much all I've done since Friday morning.  On the bright side, I got to watch all of Arrested Development and also some of The Blue Planet.  Netflix is pretty awesome.

I'll leave you with the original, and my favorite, rendition of the song Fever;

More digital painting!

I think I'm getting better!  Although that might just be brain damage from painting in a darkened room for so long.

Also a small autobiographical comic!

More digital painting...

I have been unhappy with the sheer amount of politics that keeps coming up over and over again in my life.  Maybe it's a shallow view of the world, but I'd rather focus on the things that make me happy - art and creating and storytelling - without trying to have some sort of implicit message or trying to convince people of some political point or other.  It always seems to come back to politics for adults, though.  Sigh.

So instead of talking to people I painted this.

it's unfortunate because there were a lot of things I liked about this doodle, and a lot of things I hated.  I am feeling a little bit better about shading flesh, but I'm really unhappy with my awful attempt at armor in the bottom there.  And backgrounds.  Don't even get me started on backgrounds.  From now on all of my characters live in wispy, creepy voids.

An Important Additional Note

I'm not actually a current animation student!  So you don't have to follow me if you don't want to.  :D  I notice Mr. King seems to have left my name up on the class blog, but I assure you, I am completely irrelevant!

Practicing digital painting

When I got my tablet, I also got some mediocre painting software.  This is me trying to make it work.  Yaaaaay!

Comments, critiques and suggestions are all appreciated! Some of them are pretty crappy because I got tired.  And I have no idea why I always draw people looking up.  I'm just bad I guess!
